| ADSL - What it doesn't work
with |
|
ADSL will not work with any of the following services
installed on your BT phone line:
- 30K Loop
- Home Highway / Business Highway [see note]
- Featurenet 5000 services
- Private Circuits (leased lines)
- ISDN – all types [see note]
- Red ABC
- RedCare (Some recently installed RedCare lines are
compatible)
- Meter pulse facility
- PBX extension lines
- Telephone lines delivered over optical fibre (TPON)
There is a scheme which now allows orders to be attempted
against TPON lines
BT can only provide a single IPStream (ADSL) over a
single PSTN exchange line. End users can only receive a single
Broadband Service over a PSTN line.
This list is not exhaustive.
Note: It is possible to convert
ISDN, Home Highway and Business Highway lines to a single ordinary
phone line for ADSL use. We can arrange it for you, and if we do it
will happen at the same time as your ADSL is installed. There is a BT
charge for doing this.
