The Do It Yourself Method

Note:
This connection method has been around for some time and the software available for download may have been updated so check the web for newer versions. Zetnet do not offer technical support for the method of connection below and any queries should be addressed to the scripts authors.

You'll need a hard drive (with free space !) and at least RiscOS 3.1.

Simple, in *this* order:

Settype of "BasPlug" to BASIC.

Run "BasPlug"

Run "!SparkPlug"

Drag all the below files to !SparkPlug one at a time and copy *everything* in them to an empty directory - don't worry about overwriting duplicate files with the same name.

Note: This software in this archive is not maintained by Zetnet and we cannot be certain it's content is up to date.

Run "!SysMerge" to update System.

Edit the file "!Setup" with your account details.

Run "DoZetnet".

Run "!SlipDial".

Wait for SlipDial to initialise and then click on the SlipDial "T" icon.

Wait for SlipDial to log on and run !TCPIP.

You are now logged on, news and mail should automatically kick in.

To log off either type "quit" into the TCPIP command window or choose "disconnect" from the SlipDial icon bar menu. TCPIP will disconnect automatically after a certain period of inactivity.

Once you've logged off, SlipDial should run !NewsBase which will process any mail which has been grabbed.

Read stuff in "Documents" and the application directories.

For Web:

Choose "Choices" from the !SlipDial icon bar menu.

Change the "Auto-run" script to "ZetNetF". Click "Save".

Quit SlipDial.

Re-run "!SlipDial".

Wait for SlipDial to initialise and then click on the SlipDial "F" icon.

Wait for SlipDial to log on and run !Freenet.

Run "!ArcWeb".

Web out.

To log off choose "disconnect" from the SlipDial icon bar menu.

Remember to change script back to "ZetNet" for TCPIP.

For IRC:

Type "telnet irc.demon.co.uk" into TCPIP.

For FTP:

Either use the "aftp <address>" command in TCPIP or use ArcWeb with "ftp://<address>/".
