Browsers - Internet Explorer

To get to the Settings of Internet Explorer you need to select your computer's Internet Options.

This can be accessed directly from the Control Panel (Start button > Settings > Control Panel > Internet Options) or if you have Internet Explorer open, then choose Tools & Internet Options from the menu bar.

Note: in earlier versions of Internet Explorer this may be found in 'View', 'Internet Options'.

This gives you the Internet Options properties Window. On the General tab you will find the option for the settings of your Home Page. In this example it is set as being our support web site, but if you have a website that you regularly like to visit or a preferred search engine you could put their address as your home page.
To ensure that you are using the correct connection for dialing the Internet, go to the Connections tab.

To set your default connection to the Internet as being Zetnet, Select the dial-up connection from the list & press the Set Default button.

There are 2 proxy servers that you are able to use with this connection; a web filtering and web cache server.

If you have requested a 'filtered account' with ourselves you must use the web filtering proxy server to view web pages.

To set up access via one of the proxy servers you need to look at the Settings of your connection. Click on the Settings Button.

This give you the Settings of your connection.

To use the Web Filtering server add the following settings:
Address:
littlehat.zetnet.co.uk
Port:
8080

To use the Web Cache server enter the following settings:
Address:
www-cache.zetnet.co.uk
Port:
3128
