Support - Email Misunderstandings

Common "misunderstandings" about mail delivery and Domain Names.

@zetnet.co.uk
This is Zetnet's own domain name. Members can have individual (ie one name per box) email addresses set up on this domain as necessary. They can have POP3 and ZetMail delivery to these boxes.

There can be a number of additional email addresses that are sent to a basic mailbox (known as "aliases")
@<subdomain>.zetnet.co.uk
this is a special sub division of our domain name that we rent out to customers. They can have vPOP, ZetMail or SMTP delivery to these addresses, The vPOP delivery is a "special" method of POP3 delivery - where the customer has a single POP3 mailbox to which all mail sent to the sub-domain is routed to that mailbox
@<theirname>.co.uk (or .org.uk or .com etc)
This is a domain name which is registered with the mail service for exclusive use by a specific customer. They can have POP3, ZetMail or SMTP delivery to these addresses.

If you want SMTP delivery you MUST have a sub-domain or owndomain name,
If you want a sub-domain or owndomain name you do NOT have to have SMTP.
