- Publishing your Website |
|
If you already have a program to publish your site to
your web space then the settings you have been given should be sufficient
to publish to the Zetnet web space. If you would like any further help
with specific packages do give our support team a ring (0870 748 2368).
Publishing using FTP
Please bear the following points in mind when publishing via FTP:
- When you log in, you should find yourself in a directory
called / - this is NOT the root directory of the whole server, just
the root directory of your own space on the server.
- Web pages go in the directory called either "www" or "public_html"
inside your root directory.
- You will find the previous 8 days log files in a
directory called logs inside your root directory. Please contact our
support team if you would like access to our graphical statistics server.
- If available for your webspace, CGI scripts can be
placed in the directory called cgi-bin. This maps on to http://www.yourdomain.com/cgi-bin
- Please note that all CGI scripts must only
be writeable by "user", or they will not run, but instead
give an error. In Unix terms this means rwxr-wr-w or 755
If you do not have a package to publish your site you
can download WSFTP from our site, if you are having problems publishing
to your site then it may be a good idea to try using this software.

Publishing using Microsoft® FrontPage 98
or 2000™
This can only be done using a virtual server, and if your particular virtual
server supports FrontPage 2000. If you are not sure, or you would like
your virtual server FrontPage enabled, please contact our support team.
In general, the usernames and passwords for FrontPage
access will be the same as for FTP, and not "administrator"
as is assumed in the FrontPage documentation. Please note that creating
subwebs using FrontPage will not create an identical FTP login.
